Edison State Student Housing project is a multi-phase development in the Lee County Campus of Edison State College in Fort Myers, Florida. The Phase I structure will house approximately 400 beds, classified into two unit types (4-bedroom and 2-bedroom units) which are designed carefully to afford a pleasant, naturally-lit interior spaces composed of a fresh palette of interior finishes. The student housing wings are configured to define a common green space to encourage students’ interaction and casual academic exchanges. The architectural materials comply to the guidelines set out for the college and include an assemblage of masonry, smooth plaster, aluminum windows with Low-E insulated glazing units, and standing seam metal roofing. Designed to pursue LEED Gold Certification, the project utilizes energy efficient mechanical and electrical technologies as well as water-saving plumbing fixtures.
