AIA, LEED AP BD+C

Founding Partner

Dang directs the development of major design decisions at the onset of concepts to set out the foundational framework that enables consistent technical refinement of the design in adherence to conceptual priorities. He has an extraordinary ability to resolve multivarious interests, constraints, and conflicts at record speed and clarity.

He leads a true studio where design excellence is achieved within a transparent collaborative culture that fosters creativity and innovation sans ego. Dang’s design sensibility has produced consistently engaging solutions - ranging from boutique resort villas to large mixed-use buildings to hundreds of acres of master-planned communities across the United States and Asia. His design for the 1,001-key Omni Dallas Convention Center Hotel transformed the iconic Dallas skyline.

Dang was a 2014 Dallas Business Journal’s Minority Business Leader Awards honoree, recognizing his achievements in business as well as the design industry where his works have won prestigious design awards from the American Institute of Architects, International Interior Design Association, Center for Health Design, Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, and Metropolitan Arts Press.

An exemplary model of the American Dream, Dang arrived in the US in 1979 as a young refugee accompanied only by his older sister and her daughter - enduring two pirate attacks on their boats along the way, worked odd jobs, put himself through college to become a Distinguished Alumni of the UT Arlington’s School of Architecture, and co-founded 5G Studio in 2005 along with Yen Ong. On his personal time, Dang’s maker mindset has led him to furniture-making, metal fabrication, and patented product development.
